\nBolivia tiene una superficie de 109.858.100 hect\u00e1reas, de las que aproximadamente un 48% (53.1 millones de has) son bosques nativos. De acuerdo a la altitud, puede dividirse en la Regi\u00f3n de Tierras Altas y la Regi\u00f3n de Tierras Bajas. Las tierras altas contienen dos subregiones: los valles interandinos y el Altiplano. Actualmente, la poblaci\u00f3n nacional es de 9.862.860 habitantes, y estimando que se mantiene la proporci\u00f3n de poblaci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena, esta alcanzar\u00eda a 6.529.213 personas, que conforman 39 pueblos. Los pueblos m\u00e1s numerosos son los Quechua y Aymara (andinos), Guaran\u00edes, Chiquitanos y Moje\u00f1os (amaz\u00f3nicos). La mayor diversidad \u00e9tnica se encuentra en las tierras bajas, adonde habitan 34 pueblos ind\u00edgenas , que en conjunto est\u00e1n integrados por 161.673 personas.<\/p>\n En cuanto a la demanda de sus territorios, en 1996 cuando se sancion\u00f3 la Ley de Reforma Agraria o Ley INRA (link a secci\u00f3n), los ind\u00edgenas demandaban 32.999.771 has, de las que 21.003.019 has correspond\u00edan a tierras bajas. Para el 2011, el territorio demandado alcanz\u00f3 a 36.552.883 has para la conformaci\u00f3n de 258 Territorios Ind\u00edgenas Originarios Campesinos (TIOCs). De esa superficie, 22.341.722 has son demandadas para conformar 60 TIOCs de los Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas de Tierras Bajas.<\/p>\n Hasta febrero de 2011, se titularon 190 TIOCs, por un total de 20.715.950 has, de las que 57.7% (11.946.866 has) corresponden a las 55 TIOCs titulados en tierras bajas; territorios que representan un 22.5% de la Amazon\u00eda Boliviana. En comparaci\u00f3n, en las tierras altas (Altiplano y Valles Interandinos), es donde se encuentra la mayor parte de los TIOCs titulados en el pa\u00eds (135 TIOCs).<\/p>\n La superficie sujeta a saneamiento es de 106.751.722 millones de has, y la superficie titulada representa el 19.4% de la misma, por lo que el proceso a\u00fan contin\u00faa.<\/p>\n Bolivia tiene 22 \u00e1reas protegidas, que abarcan 16.7 millones de has (15% de la superficie nacional), de las que 89% se encuentran en tierras bajas, especialmente en la Chiquitan\u00eda y el Chaco. Del total de las \u00e1reas, un tercio (5.5 millones de has) ha sido demandado como territorios ind\u00edgenas. Subregi\u00f3n Chapare-Moxos:<\/strong> \u00e1rea tropical de Cochabamba, sudoeste del departamento del Beni (provincias de Moxos, Ballivi\u00e1n y Yacuma), y una peque\u00f1a de Santa Cruz. Est\u00e1 atravesada por r\u00edos de la cuenca alta del r\u00edo Mamor\u00e9.
Subregi\u00f3n It\u00e9nez Mamor\u00e9:<\/strong> ubicada entre los r\u00edos Mamor\u00e9 e It\u00e9nez, departamento del Beni (provincias It\u00e9nez, Mamor\u00e9, Yacuma, Marb\u00e1n, etc.) y una m\u00ednima parte del departamento de Santa Cruz (Guarayos).
Subregi\u00f3n Chiquitan\u00eda:<\/strong> principalmente ubicada en Santa Cruz (provincias de \u00d1uflo de Ch\u00e1vez, Velasco, Chiquitos, Germ\u00e1n Busch y \u00c1ngel Sandoval). Atravesada por el r\u00edo Paragu\u00e1 (cuenca del r\u00edo It\u00e9nez) y afluentes del r\u00edo Paraguay.
Subregi\u00f3n Chaco:<\/strong> atraviesa los departamentos Santa Cruz, Chuquisaca y Tarija. Es de bosque seco, con pocos r\u00edos (Pilcomayo, Parapet\u00ed y Guapay o Grande).<\/p>\n
