Bolivia tiene 22 \u00e1reas protegidas, que abarcan 16.7 millones de has (15% de la superficie nacional), de las que 89% se encuentran en tierras bajas, especialmente en la Chiquitan\u00eda y el Chaco. Del total de las \u00e1reas, un tercio (5.5 millones de has) ha sido demandado como territorios ind\u00edgenas. Como resultado de las titulaciones, 11 \u00e1reas protegidas se solapan con 17 TIOCs, representando un \u00e1rea de solapamiento de 3.2 millones de has, que se concentran especialmente en el Parque Eduardo Abaroa (Potos\u00ed); el TIPNIS (Beni y Cochabamba); la Reserva Pil\u00f3n Lajas y el Parque Madidi (Norte amaz\u00f3nico); y San Mat\u00edas (Santa Cruz)[1].<\/p>\n
