HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation<\/strong> es una fundaci\u00f3n suiza sin fines de lucro, que contribuye a la lucha contra la pobreza con proyectos de cooperaci\u00f3n y servicios de consultor\u00eda, ayudando a crear un mundo en el cual personas menos favorecidas puedan tener una vida segura y digna. Aportan a la construcci\u00f3n de capacidades en las comunidades para que puedan ejercer sus derechos, a la conservaci\u00f3n de sus recursos naturales, a contar con infraestructura b\u00e1sica y a tener acceso a la educaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La Iniciativa para los Derechos y Recursos<\/strong> (Rights and Resources Initiative – RRI) es una coalici\u00f3n global de organizaciones comunitarias, regionales e internacionales involucradas en la conservaci\u00f3n, la investigaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo.
RRI trabaja para promover un mayor compromiso global y acciones de reformas pol\u00edticas, de tenencia y de mercado a favor de los pobres.<\/p>\n

Desde abril de 2009 Intercooperation viene desarrollando la Iniciativa \u201cTerritorios Ind\u00edgenas, Gobernanza y Desaf\u00edos para el Manejo Forestal Comunitario\u201d (TIyG) en el marco del Programa Regional de RRI para Am\u00e9rica Latina.<\/p>\n

La finalidad de la Iniciativa Territorio Ind\u00edgena y Gobernanza<\/strong> es contribuir a fortalecer las capacidades de las organizaciones ind\u00edgenas, tradicionales y campesinas, en la administraci\u00f3n y control de sus territorios, con los siguientes tres objetivos:<\/p>\n

\n

\u2022 Comprender cu\u00e1les son las diferentes formas o modelos de gobernanza territorial que han sido promovidos por los gobiernos y\/o adoptadas por las organizaciones ind\u00edgenas para administrar y controlar sus territorios, y cu\u00e1les son los problemas y desaf\u00edos resultantes.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Identificar organizaciones territoriales ind\u00edgenas y ONGs con las cuales ir resolviendo algunos de los retos concretos asociados a la necesidad de gobernar espacios multi-comunales y de cierta envergadura, contribuyendo a fortalecer las capacidades de las comunidades y de sus dirigencias para estas tareas.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Contribuir en el dise\u00f1o y ajuste de las pol\u00edticas propias o internas de las propias organizaciones, y de las pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas que en cada pa\u00eds norman los procesos de gobernanza territorial.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

El Programa se inici\u00f3 en 2009, con una Etapa de Orientaci\u00f3n, que permiti\u00f3 identificar la situaci\u00f3n concreta en 6 pa\u00edses de Am\u00e9rica Latina: Bolivia, Per\u00fa, Ecuador, Colombia, Panam\u00e1 y Nicaragua.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A partir de esta primera etapa, se suceden tres etapas m\u00e1s (2009\/2010, 2010\/2011, 2011\/2012) con el prop\u00f3sito de:<\/p>\n

\n

\u2022 Generar un mayor conocimiento sobre algunos de los temas transversales a trav\u00e9s de estudios espec\u00edficos (en especial sobre Autonom\u00eda y Autogobierno, Autoridades Modernas y Autoridades Tradicionales, y Relaci\u00f3n de los Territorios Ind\u00edgenas con el Mercado).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Intercambiar experiencias entre organizaciones territoriales ind\u00edgenas de la regi\u00f3n amaz\u00f3nica y con el apoyo de ONGs interesadas en la tem\u00e1tica, a trav\u00e9s de dos talleres que se realizaron en Puyo (Ecuador), del 22 al 24 de Marzo de 2010, y en Lomer\u00edo y Concepci\u00f3n (Bolivia), del 30 de Septiembre al 4 de Octubre de 2010.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Acompa\u00f1ar a algunas organizaciones territoriales en problemas concretos de gobernanza de sus territorios, como es el caso del territorio Mayagna Sauni As (RAAN \u2013 Nicaragua, a trav\u00e9s de CADPI) y la TCO Monteverde (Bolivia, a trav\u00e9s de CEJIS, actividad en etapa de negociaci\u00f3n).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Crear este portal web especialmente dedicado a los temas de Gobernanza en Territorios ind\u00edgenas.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
