\nEl Art\u00edculo 57 de la Constituci\u00f3n Ecuatoriana del a\u00f1o 2008 reconoce los derechos de los pueblos y nacionalidades ind\u00edgenas contenidos en pactos, convenios, declaraciones y dem\u00e1s instrumentos internacionales de derechos humanos. <\/p>\n

De all\u00ed que en Ecuador, tienen rango constitucional instrumentos legales del Sistema Universal de Derechos Humanos (del que forman parte todos los pa\u00edses del mundo) y del Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos (del que forman parte los Estados Americanos miembros de la OEA – Organizaci\u00f3n de Estados Americanos).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Pactos Internacionales de Derechos Econ\u00f3micos, Sociales y Culturales (PIDESC) y de Derechos Civiles y Pol\u00edticos (PIDCP)<\/strong>
Ratificados el 6 de Marzo de 1969. En el a\u00f1o 2010 Ecuador fue el primer pa\u00eds del mundo en aprobar el Protocolo Facultativo del PIDESC, que permite presentar denuncias sobre la violaci\u00f3n de derechos econ\u00f3micos, sociales y culturales ante Naciones Unidas. Tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n vigentes las Observaciones Generales e Informes de Relatores Especiales.<\/p>\n

Ecuador es parte de la Convenci\u00f3n Americana de Derechos Humanos (CADH) desde diciembre de 1977, del Protocolo de San Salvador y de todos los tratados que integran el Sistema Interamericano de Protecci\u00f3n de los Derechos Humanos. A su vez, acepta la competencia de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos. De all\u00ed que las sentencias de la Corte contienen derechos que en Ecuador tienen rango constitucional.<\/p>\n
