La Iniciativa para los Derechos y Recursos<\/a><\/strong> es tambi\u00e9n conocida por las siglas RRI, por su nombre en ingl\u00e9s Rights and Resources Initiative.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Consiste en una coalici\u00f3n global de organizaciones internacionales involucradas en la conservaci\u00f3n, la investigaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo de acciones de apoyo a las reformas pol\u00edticas y los mercados a favor de los pobres, y en pos de la tenencia de territorios y recursos en manos de los pobres.<\/p>\n

Su misi\u00f3n es apoyar a las comunidades locales y pueblos ind\u00edgenas que luchan contra la pobreza y la marginaci\u00f3n mediante la promoci\u00f3n de mayor compromiso y acci\u00f3n mundial hacia reformas pol\u00edticas, legales, y del mercado que garanticen sus derechos a poseer, controlar y beneficiarse de los recursos naturales, especialmente la tierra y los bosques.<\/p>\n

Los objetivos de RRI son:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Disminuir en forma significativa el n\u00famero de personas viviendo en condiciones de pobreza en las \u00e1reas forestadas del mundo.<\/p>\n

2. Incrementar las \u00e1reas boscosas pose\u00eddas y administradas localmente, incluyendo derechos seguros para individuos y comunidades para usar y comercializar los productos y servicios forestales.<\/p>\n
