Actualmente los Waoranis ocupan un \u00e1rea de 612.215 hect\u00e1reas, legalizadas mediante Providencia de Adjudicaci\u00f3n No. 90-1772, decretada por el gobierno como zona intangible, y parte de la reserva del Parque Nacional Yasun\u00ed.<\/p>\n

Poblaci\u00f3n<\/strong>
Est\u00e1 conformada por 3500 personas distribuidas en las siguientes comunidades:<\/p>\n

En Pastaza: To\u00f1ampare (la m\u00e1s poblada), Tzapino, Tihueno, Quiwado-Quihuaro, Quenahueno, Daimutaro, Wamono, Tig\u00fcino, Shiripuno y Huahano.<\/p>\n

En Napo: Gareno, Kakataro, Entaro, Keweiri-Ono y Tepapare.
En Orellana: Uiyero, Dicaro, Yarentaro, \u00d1oneno, Miwagono, Tobeta, Dicapare, Nenquipare, Yawepare y Apaika.<\/p>\n

Ubicaci\u00f3n y Centro Administrativo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Se encuentran asentados en tres provincias:
\u2022 Orellana: cant\u00f3n Orellana, parroquia Dayuma; y cant\u00f3n Aguarico, parroquias Tiputini, Yasun\u00ed Sta. Mar\u00eda de Huiririma.
\u2022 Pastaza: cant\u00f3n Arajuno, parroquia Curaray.
\u2022 Napo: cant\u00f3n Tena, parroquia Chontapunta
El centro administrativo es Puyo, Capital de la Provincia de Pastaza.<\/p>\n

Organizaci\u00f3n Ind\u00edgena<\/strong>
La organizaci\u00f3n que representa a la Nacionalidad Waorani del Ecuador (NAWE) es la Organizaci\u00f3n de la Nacionalidad Huaorani de la Amazonia Ecuatoriana (ONHAE), conformada en 1986, con Acuerdo Ministerial No.100050, estableci\u00e9ndose la sede en Puyo, Pastaza.<\/p>\n

Esta es la instancia organizativa que los representa ante el estado y la sociedad.<\/p>\n
