Shuar significa gente. Los miembros de esta Nacionalidad adoptan distintas auto denominaciones, que no significan diferencias culturales, sino que hacen referencia a la ubicaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica: Los Muraya Shuar (gente de la monta\u00f1a); los Untsuri Shuar (gente numerosa); los Pakanmaya Shuar que viven en la zona del Transkutuk\u00fa.<\/p>\n

Poblaci\u00f3n<\/strong>
Actualmente son 110.000 personas, de quienes El 65% habita en la provincia de Morona Santiago, y el 35% restante en entre las provincias de Zamora Chinchipe y Pastaza. En Pastaza est\u00e1n agrupados en 28 comunidades, pertenecientes a 3 asociaciones: Pupun\u00e1s, Pastaza y Charip.<\/p>\n

        Ubicaci\u00f3n y Centro Administrativo<\/strong><\/p>\n

        En Ecuador el n\u00facleo fundamental de su poblaci\u00f3n se encuentra ubicado en las provincias de Morona Santiago, Pastaza y Zamora Chinchipe, existiendo otros asentamientos en Sucumb\u00edos y Orellana en la Amazonia y, en la Regi\u00f3n Litoral, en Guayas y Esmeraldas.<\/p>\n

        Est\u00e1 integrada por organizaciones Shuar con una estructura organizativa s\u00f3lida que les permite sobrellevar iniciativas y proyectos sociales, pol\u00edticos, econ\u00f3micos y culturales para el beneficio colectivo como objetivo com\u00fan.<\/p>\n

        \u2022 Nacionalidad Shuar del Ecuador (NASHE)<\/strong>, anteriormente denominada FIPSE (Federaci\u00f3n Independiente del Pueblo Shuar del Ecuador), creada en 1963, se articula alrededor de los centros Shuar protestantes de Makuma (zona del transkutuk\u00fa) con un total de 69 centros y 11 asociaciones.
        \n\u2022 Federaci\u00f3n Interprovincial de Centros Shuar (FICSH)<\/strong> con sede en Suc\u00faa, Morona Santiago. Creada en 1964. Es la de mayor cobertura ya que nucela asociaciones de Morona Santiago, Pastaza y Napo. A su vez, la FICSH forma parte del Comit\u00e9 Interfederacional conformado adem\u00e1s por la NAE (Achuar) y la FIPSE (Federaci\u00f3n Independiente de Pueblos Shuar de Ecuador). Constituida por 490 centros o comunidades.
        \n\u2022 Federaci\u00f3n de la Nacionalidad Shuar de Pastaza (FENASHP)<\/strong>, reconocida legalmente mediante Acuerdo Ministerial 21-86 por parte del Ministerio de Bienestar Social, el 16 de febrero del 2001.
        \n\u2022 Federaci\u00f3n Provincial de la Nacionalidad Shuar de Zamora Chinchipe (FEPNASH.Z.Ch)<\/strong> que agrupa 18 centros.
        \n\u2022 Federaci\u00f3n Shuar de Zamora Chinchipe (FESHZ.Ch)<\/strong>
        \n\u2022 Federaci\u00f3n Provincial de Centros Shuar de Sucumb\u00edos (FEPCESH-S)<\/strong>
        \n\u2022 Federaci\u00f3n de Centros de la Nacionalidad Shuar de Orellana (FECNASH-O)<\/strong><\/p>\n
