\nLa econom\u00eda ind\u00edgena tradicional est\u00e1 basada en la diversidad y en conocimientos y saberes que permiten el uso y manejo de la biodiversidad, manteniendo un amplio abanico de estrategias econ\u00f3micas para la producci\u00f3n, recolecci\u00f3n e intercambio con otras comunidades y con el mundo no ind\u00edgena. La capacidad para seleccionar y usar de manera exitosa alguna estrategias, entre muchas posibles, requiere de un conocimiento sofisticado de las condiciones ecol\u00f3gicas, ambientales y culturales. Ese conocimiento ha sido acumulado y trasmitido por generaciones.<\/p>\n
As\u00ed como para la econom\u00eda de mercado el eje ordenador, el principio l\u00f3gico, es la acumulaci\u00f3n, para la econom\u00eda ind\u00edgena el eje ordenador es la distribuci\u00f3n. Mientras la acumulaci\u00f3n apela al valor del individualismo, el de la distribuci\u00f3n apela m\u00e1s al valor de la solidaridad.<\/p>\n

Al enfrentarse la econom\u00eda ind\u00edgena de las comunidades ind\u00edgenas a la econom\u00eda de mercado, se empiezan a perder, en mayor o menor medida y velocidad, las formas tradicionales de vida. En un primer momento, la econom\u00eda comunal trata de adaptarse, s\u00f3lo comerciando con los peque\u00f1os excedentes de la producci\u00f3n destinada al autoconsumo. Pero poco a poco, y a medida que se empieza a depender del consumo de bienes \u201cfor\u00e1neos\u201d (instrumentos de trabajo, ropa, comida, e incluso armas \u2013para cacer\u00eda, o control territorial), la necesidad de dinero se hace m\u00e1s apremiante, disminuye el comercio o trueque con otras comunidades, y los ind\u00edgenas, cada uno por su cuenta, empieza a ofertar tanto productos de la selva, como de las chacras, y vendiendo su fuerza de trabajo, alej\u00e1ndose entonces de sus comunidades por periodos cada vez m\u00e1s largos.
Esto tiene un costo social enorme, pues se va debilitando el sistema de reciprocidad, las formas sustentables de convivencia con la naturaleza (que limitaban la caza, la pesca y la recolecci\u00f3n a lo \u00fanicamente necesario para la subsistencia familiar o comunal), y se van generando crecientes diferencias entre las familias, en raz\u00f3n de sus v\u00ednculos con el mundo externo (motoristas, maestros, promotores de salud, l\u00edderes comunitarios, artesanos, cazadores-recolectores, entre otros), generando divisiones al interior de las comunidades y organizaciones.<\/p>\n\u201cVolver a la maloca\u201d: la propuesta de la COICA<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\u2022 Es buscar y rescatar las ense\u00f1anzas que equilibran la calidad, en la simplicidad, marca de la existencia sana de nuestros ancestros, es decir aprovechar de lo que el mundo occidental ofrece, sin abandonar valores y pr\u00e1cticas sociales y culturales propios. Saber que la producci\u00f3n y el consumo son ejes que se articulan dentro del proceso de organizaci\u00f3n social y sirven para fortalecer las redes de intercambio de los miembros del grupo.
\u2022 Es retornar hacia nosotros mismo, es valorar a\u00fan m\u00e1s el saber ancestral, la relaci\u00f3n armoniosa con el medio. Es sentir el placer en la danza que enlaza el cuerpo y el esp\u00edritu, es proteger nuestras sabidur\u00edas, tecnolog\u00edas y sitios sagrados. Es sentir que la maloca esta dentro de cada hijo del sol, del viento, de las aguas, de las rocas, de las \u00e1rboles, de las estrellas y del universo.
\u2022 Es lo que est\u00e1 haciendo COICA visible en la Agenda Ind\u00edgena Amaz\u00f3nica, retornando a nuestra gran maloca que es la Amazonia y los pueblos que la constituimos.\u201d<\/p>\n
